Key Takeaways
- Abyss Glance offers Frost Vortexes without requiring weakspot damage, scaling with PSI intensity.
- Doombringer excels in close quarters but falls off in long-range battles, with the risk of marking in a 5m range.
- Memento triggers Fast Gunner for more ammo by focusing on weak spots or performing decently with a CRIT build.
As soon as you land in the lands of Nalcott, you’re given a basic Crossbow to slay the enemies. Though it’s effective in the initial areas like Thoroughville, you’ll feel the lack of firepower as you progress to mid-tier areas.
Pistols, Snipers, Rifles, SMGs, LMGs, you’ll be choosing one of the aforementioned weapon categories, and soon you’ll toss that Crossbow aside without ever looking back.
There’s no shortage of weapons in Once Human; the moment you unlock the Wish Machine, you’ll be able to purchase Legendary weapon blueprints. And those weapons hit hard.
With each Legendary blueprint costing 8000 Starchrom, you must carefully pick the weapon of your choice and get suitable gear.
As a beginner, you want to get a good weapon to breeze through the end-game content and deadly Prime wars. To help you choose the first Legendary weapon, let’s go through our 10 Best Once Human weapons for the Manibus PvE scenario.
10
KAM – Abyss Glance
Ice, Ice, Baby!
Weapon Feature 1 |
Hitting enemies 20 times triggers Frost Vortex |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Weakspot hits count as 2 hits |
Weapon Feature 3 |
Frost damage +30% |
Weapon Feature 4 |
The closer to the center of the Frost Vortex, the higher the Frost Vortex damage up to 200% |
Like Memento, Abyss Glance’s weapon features focus on Weakspot effects. However, we’re trying to reach the Frost Vortex trigger count, so there’s no need to go all into the Weakspot damage. With the weapon’s core elemental effect, you can summon up to two Frost Vortexes, continuously damaging and slowing the enemies.
The best thing about elemental weapons is that the damage scales with the PSI intensity, so it becomes crucial to upgrade the gear. Usually, Polar Jelly deviation increases the Frost damage; however, the DPS loss is visible as soon as the Deviation goes on a cooldown.
The weapon requires a decent investment, in my opinion. Unless you want to invest in an AK weapon, you’re better off with the Icey Rain SMG, an excellent rarity weapon available for free from the Mystical crates.
9
DBSG – Doombringer
Slay Them, Punisher Style
Weapon Feature 1 |
30 % chance to trigger the Bullseye effect while hitting the enemy. The chances is 80 % within a 5m range |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Crit rate + 30 % when hitting marked enemies |
Weapon Feature 3 |
Defeating a marked enemy grants Attack + 6 for 60 seconds with 5 stacks. |
Weapon Feature 4 |
After triggering the Bullseye effect, the damage reduction goes up by 5 % for 8 seconds with 4 stacks. |
It was one of the most overpowered weapons in the game until the developers nerfed one of its weapon features; the Bull’s eye application. The caveat is that to have an increased chance of marking the enemies, you must be within a 5-meter range, which is very risky.
No doubt, the weapon still hits hard. However, it suffers damage and falls off in mid-to-long-range combats.
You can use this along with some refreshing Ice Tea drink to close the distance in a few seconds. However, you’re placing yourself in enemies’ effective melee range, which can be fatal in challenges like Pro Silos, LEA Lab, and the Forsaken Giant.
8
R500 – Memento
It’s High Noon
Weapon Feature 1 |
Hits grant a 36% chance to trigger Fast Gunner. The chance doubles with a weakspot hit |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Each shot has a 40% chance to consume 1 more bullet(s) |
Weapon Feature 3 |
When Fast Gunner is triggered, 1 bullet(s) is reloaded to the magazine. |
Weapon Feature 4 |
When extra bullets are consumed, attack +80% |
Memento features the Fast Gunner effect, which increases the attack and fire rate over time. You may feel that the Pistol’s magazine capacity could be a hindrance, but that’s where the weapon features will come to the rescue.
To have a faster Gunner trigger chance, you should focus on the weak spots, and as soon as they are triggered, your weapon’s magazine is refilled. So, in a nutshell, to get more ammo, focus on weak spots, which increases your damage, and the more extra bullets you consume, the higher the damage goes.
Honestly, the weapon is beginner-friendly, and all you need to do is to target the weak spots. You’re also free to choose either the CRIT build or the Weakspot build, as both will be good enough to clear the end-game content.
Every magenta hit is a weak spot hit, while CRIT hits are dark yellow-brown.
7
KVD – Boom! Boom!
Boom Boom Bakudan ~ Klee
Weapon Feature 1 |
18% chance to trigger Burn on a hit |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Killing an enemy affected by Burn deals a Blaze explosion damage of 300% of PSI intensity |
Weapon Feature 3 |
The explosion inflicts 1 Burn stack on targets hit |
Weapon Feature 4 |
Blaze damage +30% |
The DoT damage is satisfying to watch, especially those beautiful KVD’s Burn ticks. Boom Boom heavily relies on the PSI intensity to trigger an area-of-effect explosion to blow mobs. With the burn stacking mechanism and the Pyro Dino, you can shred enemies to pieces in a few seconds.
However, the stacking mechanism is a double-edged sword because you’ll suffer a significant DPS loss when the bosses enter immune phases.
This only means that the game rewards instant damage, such as physical damage, unstable bombers, and power surges, while continuous damage, like Burn or Frost, is punished.
So, I advise approaching DoT weapons cautiously because you’ll need better gear to achieve big numbers, and some bosses might become immune to them.
6
ACS12 – Corrosion
Close Quarters Chaos
Weapon Feature 1 |
70 % chance to trigger Power Surge on hit, but doesn’t inflict Power Surge status |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Power Surge can crit and Power Surge crit +15% |
Weapon Feature 3 |
Power Surge damage factor + 15% |
Weapon Feature |
When Power Surge is triggered, Power Surge crit damage + 15 % for 6 seconds, upto 10 stacks |
Quite an underrated shotgun, in my opinion. The weapon’s features are similar to those of JAWS, where the Elemental damage can do critical hits. Though the shotgun doesn’t have long-range damage, the power surge damage doesn’t suffer from damage falling off.
For a close-to-mid-range weapon, the ACS12 – Corrosion shotgun is a nightmare to deal with. As for the build, you can use power surge mods with the Lonewolf armor set to increase the CRIT rate and damage over time. Just don’t expect it to work like a rifle because the bullet spread might not hit the target at all.
Again, you must upgrade your gear to get more PSI intensity for increased Power Surge damage.
Always use food, drinks or whim potions that help you to increase the weapon damage.
5
MG4 – Predator
You’re Not Running Out Of Ammo Anytime Soon
Weapon Feature 1 |
40% chance to trigger Fast Gunner on hit |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Infinite ammo for 0.5s when Fast Gunner stacks reach a multiple of 5 |
Weapon Feature 3 |
Consecutive hits to the same target gives Weapon damage +2% per hit upto 40%. Resets on switching the target |
Weapon Feature 4 |
Attack+40% when the remaining bullets are more than 50% of the magazine capacity |
Do you want to keep shooting without fear of running out of bullets before your enemy drops? Then you’ll want the MG4 Predator.
The Fast Gunner continuous buff increases the fire rate and attack over time, which skyrockets this weapon’s damage.
You can either go for a CRIT-based or a Weakspot-focused build. The only difference is that the Weakspot build will output consistent damage, while the CRIT-based build will scale over time.
It all boils down to your aiming skills, reflexes, and recoil control. It makes sense to go with a Weakspot build if you’ve got good aiming skills and recoil control, otherwise CRIT-based builds are all-rounder candidates for most weapons.
If built correctly, you can even shred a Prime War boss in a few minutes.
4
AWS.338 – Bullseye
One Shot, One Kill, Pure Skill
Weapon Feature 1 |
70% chance to trigger the Bullseye effect on a weakspot hit |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
After switching to this weapon, the first hit will trigger the Bullseye effect |
Weapon Feature 3 |
Grants weakspot damage +15% on hit for 10s. Stacking up to 3 times. |
Weapon Feature 4 |
After defeating an enemy with a weak spot hit, attack +15% for the 20s. |
Many folks use this sniper to activate the Bullseye effect on the enemies, which marks the enemies for 12 seconds and helps you to deal an extra +8% damage.
The marked enemies are outlined in shades of blue, and your party will also benefit from the Bullseye application. All you need to do is switch your weapon to Bingo, hit the enemy, and switch back to the primary weapon. Pretty easy, right?
However, if you want to build the weapon as your primary, you must go into the Weakspot damage, as the weapon features boost the Weakspot damage.
To get more Weakspot damage, armor sets like the Renegade sets are viable options.
Upgrade your gear to get more PSI intensity and HP.
3
MPS7 – Outer Space
Shockingly Good
Weapon Feature 1 |
25% chance to trigger Power Surge on a hit |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
After defeating an enemy, the Power Surge trigger chance +30% for 12s ( based on the weapon’s trigger chance ) |
Weapon Feature 3 |
After reloading, the Power Surge chance is +40% (based on the weapon’s trigger chance) for 3s. |
Weapon Feature 4 |
Power Surge chance +40%( based on weapon’s trigger chance ) |
Another meta weapon that many LEA speedruns feature is the MPS7—Outer Space Sub Machine Gun. The SMG’s weapon features instruct players to opt for an aggressive playstyle, as you must defeat enemies and reload consistently to activate its perks.
Being an Elemental weapon, the damage scales with the PSI intensity, so you have to upgrade the gear to get more of it. The weapon is also potent against Deviants because of its suppression effect.
Depending on your playstyle, you can use the Lightweight or Heavystyle calibration on the SMG.
I’m quite in favor of elemental damage builds, as you can use the Whimsical Drink ( An offensive drink buff ) alongside an attack food buff, usually the Crumbly bread, for more weapon damage.
Useful combat deviations are Butterfly’s Emissary ( Weakspot ), Lonewolf’s Whisper ( Weapon damage ), Pyro Dino ( Burn ), and Polar Jelly ( Frost ).
2
DE.50 – Jaws
A Shot of Adrenaline
Weapon Feature 1 |
Unstable Bomber is triggered every 4 hits |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Critical hits count as 1 shots for the above effect |
Weapon Feature 3 |
After hitting a weakspot, Explosion elemental damage is +30 % for 8 seconds |
Weapon Feature 4 |
Unstable bomber can crit and gets crit rate +25 % |
If you’re a fan of Pistols, Jaws is the best option out there, whether it’s PvP or PvE. The gun uses the Unstable bomber damage, which relies on your PSI intensity, like any other Elemental damage weapon. That’s why upgrading the gear becomes a priority.
The weapon’s unique perk enables the Status damage to CRIT, which isn’t the case by default. This makes it a solid choice to one-shot enemies in PvP or PvE as the additional Blast damage supplements the Unstable bomber damage.
If the enemies are standing very close to each other, you can benefit from the bullet’s small AoE explosion. I recommend aiming for the weak spots to trigger the weapon’s perk and increase the damage caused by the explosion.
1
SOCR – The Last Valor
Unparalleled Power & Versatility
Weapon Feature 1 |
Hitting 4 times trigger Shrapnel |
---|---|
Weapon Feature 2 |
Critical hits count as 2 hits |
Weapon Feature 3 |
Critical hits grant +1 Shrapnel trigger times for a second. |
Weapon Feature 4 |
+30% Shrapnel Crit damage |
The weapon is very flexible and versatile in every situation. Shrapnel enables the bullets to hit random parts of the enemy, including weak spots, which helps you cover almost every part of the enemies’ bodies.
The weapon is extremely useful in Nightmare Prime Wars, where you have to target Manibus’s hands. If you can’t aim properly at its weak spots ( flowers on its arms ), just shooting any part of the arm will trigger Shrapnel on its weak spots.
The gun’s build is CRIT-rate focused, so you want to have as much CRIT-rate as possible to increase the Shrapnel trigger chance.
Anyone can use the gun, beginners or veterans alike, and it does deal a decent chunk of damage.
