The best way to maximize profit when it comes to selling Artisan Goods is to pick the Tiller profession at level 5 farming and then the Artisan profession at level 10 farming. The Artisan profession increases the selling price of Artisan Goods by 40%. But, of course, Stardew Valley players should still know the best products to focus on.
Updated September 25, 2024 by Matthew Weideman: The 1.6 update for Stardew Valley was released on PC on March 19, 2024 and will be coming to consoles in November. This huge update added some new ways to make Artisan Goods that were not available to players before, along with many other features.
With these changes in mind, this list has been updated to feature even more of the most profitable Artisan Goods in Stardew Valley to provide players returning to Pelican Town with more options when they are looking to fill their pockets with Gold.
1
Cloth
Turn Wool Into Profit
- Sell Price: 470 — 658g
- Made from putting raw wool into a loom
Outside of building mills, making new clothes, and completing the Artisan Bundle, Cloth
may be an easy Artisan Good to overlook, but it isn’t one players will want to ignore. A single bundle of material sells for 470g at base value or 658g with the Artisan skill. While this is less than Iridium-quality Wool, which goes for 680g, the better raw material has a 50% chance of producing two pieces of fabric at once, making the extra step to produce Cloth a worthwhile venture more often than not.
To make Cloth from Sheep or Rabbit Wool, players will first need to unlock the Loom recipe by reaching Level 7 Farming. Once crafted, Looms can spin any sheared or dropped Wool into Cloth. Sheep produce Wool to shear every three days, while Rabbits drop Wool every four days.
2
Raisins
Dry Out Grapes To Increase Their Value
- Sell Price: 600 — 840g
- Made by putting 5 Grapes in a Dehydrator
Update 1.6 introduced new items to take players’ farms to the next level. Among these is the Dehydrator, which can dry out fruits and mushrooms to raise their value. The Dehydrator
makes Dried Fruits from any fruit placed in it, except for grapes. These produce Raisins
when dried out.
It takes five grapes to make raisins. Since the base selling price for grapes is only 80g, raisins increase their value by 200g before considering perks that raise the benefit of selling Artisan Goods. Making Raisins is a good alternative way to boost the profitability of grapes rather than making wine.
3
Duck Mayonnaise
Turn Duck Eggs Into Artisan Goods
- Sell Price: 375— 525g
- Made from putting Duck Eggs in a Mayonnaise Machine
After upgrading their Coop into a Big Coop, players can buy Ducks from Marnie. Once they mature, ducks will lay one egg every other day. These can be sold for 95g or put in a Mayonnaise Machine to become Duck Mayonnaise. Three hours later, the player will have an Artisan Good that’s worth 375g at its base level.
While the price goes up along with the quality of the Duck Mayonnaise, it is only produced at half the rate of regular Mayonnaise, making it somewhat less reliable than other streams of profit coming from a Coop.
4
Mayonnaise
Make Good Money From Regular Eggs
- Sell Price: 190— 532g
- Made from putting Chicken, Ostrich, or Golden Eggs in a Mayonnaise Machine
Mayonnaise can be made as soon as players have a mature Chicken in their first basic Coop. It does not matter if the Chicken Egg is brown or white, it can be turned into Mayonnaise. Unlike Ducks, Chickens lay eggs every day, which makes regular Mayonnaise more reliable.
The quality of Mayonnaise increases to Gold once Chickens start laying Large Eggs, which helps start to scale the profits that players receive off of their Coop. Later in the game, players can use Ostrich eggs to increase their income from Mayonnaise because one Ostrich egg produces 10 Mayonnaise. Unlike other types of eggs, the quality of Ostrich eggs also determines the quality of the Mayonnaise, so players can make Iridium-quality goods. Golden eggs can also help augment Mayonnaise production, although to a lesser extent, by producing 3 Gold-quality Mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is a reliable way to get a stable income from early in the game until money is no longer an object.
5
Cheese
A Reliable Source Of Income From Early On
- Sell Price: 230— 644g
- Made from putting Milk in a Cheese Press
Cheese becomes a reliable source of income as soon as players get their first Milk from their first Cow. It starts at a relatively low selling price, although this usually comes early enough in the game that players actually feel like the base-level Cheese is a big step forward for their incomes.
Once Cows start producing Large Milks, players will make Gold-quality Cheese by default, which is an even bigger step forward toward profits. When players advance their farms to where even Gold-quality Cheese is not as profitable as they would like, they can age it in Casks to boost their profits even more. Because of the early start and various steps of quality, Cheese is an Artisan Good that players can count on for a long time.
6
Caviar
A Delicacy In Both Real Life And Pelican Town
- Sell Price: 500 — 700g
- Made from putting Sturgeon Roe into a Preserves Jar
Made of Aged Sturgeon Roe, Caviar
is one of the most profitable and luxurious Artisan Goods players can produce using the Fish Pond. Unlike most aged roe, which doubles in value during the aging process, Caviar increases the selling price of Sturgeon Roe from 130g to 500g. Should players have the Artisan profession, the good becomes even more lucrative, selling for 700g apiece.
To begin breeding Sturgeon for Roe, players will first need to catch one from the mountain lake during summer or winter and request a Fish Pond from Robin. Once the fish begins producing roe in the pond, its eggs can be aged using a Preserves Jar, making Caviar in several days.
7
Mead
Alcohol Made From Fermented Honey
- Sell Price: 300 — 840g
- Made from putting Honey into a Keg
Honey is a great artisan good for players to use to have some fairly passive income on their farms. In any season except Winter, Bee Houses will produce Honey every three or four days. Players can make more valuable kinds of honey by placing different kinds of flowers near the Bee Houses since the bees will use those flowers to make their honey.
To make Mead, players just need to place a jar of Honey in a Keg. Mead is worth a good amount of money, especially for players with the Artisan perk. Unfortunately, there are no flavors of Mead based on the flavors of Honey so this artisan good does not scale in quality the way that different kinds of Honey can.
8
Pale Ale
This Popular Drink Is Worth More Than Regular Beer
- Sell Price: 300 — 840g
- Made from putting Hops into a Keg
As requested by Pam during the first year, Pale Ale
is an alcohol made from one of the summertime’s most abundant crops, Hops. Placing a Hop into a Keg will yield one Pale Ale within about two days. While the alcohol’s starting value after being brewed is 300g, players can then place the Artisan Good into a Cask to increase its quality. After 34 days, it will age into an Iridium-quality Pale Ale, which is worth 600g at base value or 840g with the Artisan profession.
Like many other items, Pale Ale requires several resources to prepare, but it’s a great investment. Players should aim to buy the first two house upgrades as soon as possible to unlock the recipe for Casks, which they’ll need not only to make the most of Pale Ale but to help with other Artisan Goods as well.
9
Fairy Rose Honey
Get The Most Value From Beekeeping
- Sell Price: 680 — 952g
- Made by placing a Bee House near a Fairy Rose
In Stardew Valley, the value of honey depends on what flowers or plants are planted nearby. If a Bee House is surrounded by vegetables, fruit, or open land, it will produce Wild Honey, which is only worth 100g. However, placing it near a field of flowers will change the value of its honey accordingly.
Among the six kinds of flowers players can grow, Fairy Roses
are the most profitable. When Fairy Rose Honey is produced, it sells for 680g, with Artisans making an impressive 952g per honey. To make the most out of both Bee Houses and Fairy Rose Seeds, players should be mindful of item ranges while designing their flower fields. Surrounding a square of flowers with Bee Houses can make profits skyrocket when planned out efficiently.
10
Pumpkin Pickles
Boost The Value Of One Of Fall’s Best Crops
- Sell Price: 690 — 798g
- Made from putting Pumpkin into a Preserves Jar
While the exact sell value for pickles varies depending on what sort of vegetable players place in their Preserves Jars, it’s always more profitable to turn vegetables into Artisan Goods than it is to sell them raw, even at Iridium quality. Additionally, pickled vegetables with a higher base value go for more than those with a lower one.
Individually, one of the most lucrative vegetables to turn into pickles is the pride of fall crops, Pumpkins. Pumpkin Pickles are worth 690g without the Artisan skill. With it, players can expect to make 966g per jar. The next best-selling kind of pickles would be Red Cabbage Pickles, valued at either 570g or 798g (depending on profession), followed by Cauliflower Pickles. This is important to note as Pumpkins can be turned into a number of other high-value Artisan Goods, including juice.
11
Pumpkin Juice
Get The Most Money From A Pumpkin
- Sell Price: 720 —1,008g
- Made from putting a Pumpkin into a Keg
Players make Juice in Stardew Valley by placing a vegetable in a Keg. Much like pickles, the final sell price of juice is determined based on whichever vegetable is used to create it. Nonetheless, juice will always be slightly more worthwhile than pickles, even with a longer processing time than its preserved cousin. To determine what a particular juice will be worth, players can multiply a vegetable’s base price by 2.25.
As noted previously, Pumpkin Juice is the best juice option available for players to make on their farms. On its own, it sells for 720g, but with the bonus from the Artisan profession, it sells for 1,008g a bottle.
12
Lava Eel Aged Roe
Take The Rewards For Catching A Rare And Difficult Fish
- Sell Price: 760 — 1,064g
- Made from Putting Lava Eel Roe into a Preserves Jar
Similar to Caviar, players will need a Fish Pond and Preserves Jar to begin making Lava Eel Aged Roe. However, catching a Lava Eel to begin the process can be a daunting task. Lava Eels are one of the most challenging non-legendary fish to catch in Stardew Valley, and they only spawn in two locations: Floor 100 in The Mines and The Forge in the Volcano Dungeon on Ginger Island.
Once players have aged their first Lava Eel Roe, the Artisan Good will sell for a rewarding 760g at base value. With the Artisan skill, this sell price jumps to 1,064g per aged roe, making it the most productive Artisan Good players can create using the Fish Pond.
13
Dinosaur Mayonnaise
A Rare Egg Turns Into Great Profit
- Sell Price: 800 — 1,120g
- Made from putting a Dinosaur Egg into a Mayonnaise Maker
There are many ways players can earn their first Dinosaur Egg in Stardew Valley. However, whether they find it while fishing or battling in the Skull Caverns, players will want to wait to donate the item to Gunther in favor of incubating it in their Big Coop. After a 12-day wait, they will wake up to a new Dinosaur that will produce one egg per week at maturity.
While players should remember to donate their second Dinosaur Egg if they would like to complete the museum’s collection quickly, any other Dinosaur Eggs can be incubated or made into Dinosaur Mayonnaise to turn an amazing profit. At base value, the ancient Artisan Good sells for 800g, netting 1,120g for those with the Artisan profession.
14
Goat Cheese
The Most Expensive Cheese In The Game
- Sell Price: 400 — 1,120g
- Made from putting Goat Milk into a Cheese Press
Although traditional Cheese can fetch a hefty price when sold en masse, Goat Cheese has the potential to become a much more profitable product once it’s aged. After seven days in a Cask, Goat Cheese becomes an Iridium-quality Artisan Good that sells for a base value of 800g. Artisans earn an additional profit, making 1,120g for the aged dairy product.
To gather all the supplies for the best possible Goat Cheese, players will need a mature Goat that produces Goat Milk every other day, as well as a Cheese Press and Cask. Those who prefer to use their casks for other Artisan Goods, however, can still earn a decent profit by selling Gold-quality Goat Cheese straight from the Cheese Press for either 600g or 840g, depending on profession.
15
Truffle Oil
Make Thousands From Having Pigs
- Sell Price: 1,065 — 1,491g
- Made from placing a Truffle into an Oil Maker
To make Truffle Oil in Stardew Valley, players must first completely upgrade their Barn into a Deluxe Barn and purchase one of the game’s best animals: Truffle-finding Pigs. Once their animals mature and find their first gourmet mushrooms, players will also want to make an Oil Maker using the crafting recipe they receive at Farming Level 8.
Base-value Truffle Oil sells for 1,065g, and while this is a tremendous amount, Iridium-quality Truffles sell for 1,250g on their own, which means that those without the Artisan profession will only want to turn Gold, Silver, or standard-quality Truffles into oil. Players with the Artisan skill, however, can safely produce Truffle Oil from any mushroom since they earn 1,491g per bottle.
16
Starfruit Jelly
The Best Fruit To Turn Into Jelly
- Sell Price: 1,550 — 2,107g
- Made from putting a Starfruit in a Preserves Jar
Made in a Preserves Jar, jelly works very similarly to pickles. In fact, the primary difference between them is that pickles are made from vegetables, while jelly is made from fruit. There are several profitable fruits in Stardew Valley, such as Ancient Fruit and Pineapple, but with a base value of 750g, Starfruit is by far the most valuable fruit to turn into Artisan Goods.

Stardew Valley: All Farm Maps, Ranked
Stardew Valley offers players eight different Farm Maps to choose from. Here’s how they rank up in terms of difficulty, from easiest to hardest.
Even without the Artisan skill, Starfruit Jelly sells for 1,550g. However, this value jumps up to 2,107g per jar with the additional boost to sales. Worth thousands, it is almost hard to believe the fruit for such a profitable Artisan Good is fairly easy to obtain since its seeds are available for purchase in the Calico Desert.
17
Smoked Lava Eel
The Dehydrator Raises The Value Of The Most Profitable Fish
- Sell Price: 1,400 — 2,939g
- Made by putting Lava Eel in a Fish Smoker
Lava eels are the most valuable type of fish that players can catch in Stardew Valley. Before Update 1.6, the best way to make money off of lava eels was to sell their Aged Roe. The update, however, added a new way to profit from these rare eels.
The Fish Smoker takes any fish and 1 coal and produces Smoked Fish. The fish retains the quality it had before being smoked, which is relatively rare in terms of Artisan Goods. With the Angler perk, a Smoked Fish can be worth up to three times the price of a regular fish. Since Lava Eels are already worth the most, a smoked Lava Eel can be worth nearly 3,000g.
18
Iridium-Quality Ancient Fruit & Starfruit Wine
Turn The Farm Into A Winery To Rake In The Gold
- Sell Price: 3,300 — 6,300g
- Made from putting Ancient Fruit or Starfruit Wine into a Cask and letting it age
Worth three times more than the fruit used to make it at base value, wine is the best Artisan Good for players to produce in Stardew Valley. Once made, it can also be placed into a Cask and aged to increase its quality over time. Iridium-quality wine takes two seasons to age, but it is the most fruitful quality of wine in the long run.
Additionally, to make the most valuable wines in Stardew Valley, players should focus on growing Ancient Fruit and Starfruit. Iridium-quality Ancient Fruit Wine is worth 3,300g at base value, while Iridium-quality Starfruit wine is worth 4,500g. With the Artisan profession, the wines are worth 4,620g and 6,300g, respectively, making them the two of the most profitable Artisan Goods in Stardew Valley.
