Each region in Genshin Impact It always features its own mechanics, and some are more complicated than others. For example, Mondstadt and Liyue’s puzzles are quite simple compared to Inazuma and Sumeru’s. In Sumeru, players are even locked out of a large portion of the map if they don’t prioritize adventuring with Aranara, as her music is required to solve many of Sumeru’s puzzles.
In Genshin Impact 4.0, Fontaine comes with its pneumonia mechanicwhich consists of pneuma and ousia energyand the arkhe mechanic. The system itself is pretty simple, but it brings a new twist to combat that requires people to have Fontaine characters in their party.

Pneuma and Ousia Mechanic in Genshin Impact
Pneuma and Ousia are energies that exist in Genshin Impact Fountain. Players can use it to solve puzzles either overload enemies.
pneumonia puzzle
Pneumousia puzzles consist of objects with Pneuma or Ousia energy. Yellow/White indicates Pneuma and Purple/Black indicates Ousia. Players must balance the energy of these objects by hitting them with the opposite type, so a purple/black object must be hit by Pneuma energy and vice versa. This will break the object in question or change its color. Mint/Green.
This will solve the puzzle and eventually unlock chests for the Travelers. Some notable Pneumousia puzzles would be the Mysterious Core devices in Genshin Impact.
Enemies with pneumonia
Sometimes enemies that come from Fontaine have Pneumousia energy, and it is common among Clockwork Mecha robots. Players can see the energy they have by looking at the color track. Yellow/White indicates Pneuma and Purple/Black indicates Ousia. Just attack the Genshin Impact enemy with the opposite energy to overload and momentarily incapacitate him.

Exclusive to characters hailing from Fontaine, they have innate Pneuma and Ousia Arkhe, eliminating the need to collect the respective energy blocks when completing puzzles or even attacking enemies. Underwater, the “Normal Attack” button will activate the character’s Arkhe, as normal abilities cannot be used while diving.

Other Arkhe Fonts
Currently, the only way to get Arkhe for non-Fontainians is by using the Sword of Narzissenkreuz. The alignment of this weapon can be changed at the Small Fountain where players offer the Drained Conch Cup at Genshin Impact. Unfortunately, this equipment is only usable by Sword characters, so while it provides better access to the Fontaine mechanics, the most reliable way to have Arkhe is still using Fontaine characters.
