As you travel from the warm climate of Yellow Wind Ridge to the frigid New West, you’ll discover that Black Myth Wukong ramps things up in terms of difficulty, offering several new ways to frustrate and challenge the player.
You’ll have to defeat intimidating dragons, brave the elements, and when you reach the Pagoda region, you’ll also have to deal with a rather irritating curse mechanic.
However, these are all minor inconveniences compared to the bosses that await you in the Pagoda region. The player will face four different captains of this kingdom, and the first one many players will face is Captain Lotus-Vision.
A tough boss that uses a series of magical lasers or projectiles to put you in your place. However, many bosses have tried and failed up to this point, so there’s no reason we can’t defeat this new challenger as well.
Where is Captain Lotus-Vision?
Captain Lotus-Vision is a boss found closest to the Upper Pagoda Shrine.. Once players have rested in this shrine, if they walk back and look over the ledge, they will see a red roof below leading to a boss area waiting for you and standing in front of an army of inanimate minions.
Make sure you get on the roof to take as little fall damage as possible.. But as soon as you enter the battlefield, the fight begins.
How to prepare for Captain Lotus-Vision
The first thing you must understand when taking on this fight is the health drain mechanic within the Pagoda Region.. You will have noticed that from time to time, when you are in this area, your character’s eyes will turn red, and your health will be reduced to 50%.
This is Black Myth Wukong A nice little way to remind you that this is a game that likes to challenge and frustrate you.
What you’ll want to do here is wait at the Upper Pagoda Guardian Shrine until this curse is lifted. For those who don’t know, This works effectively with a 1.5 minute timer. Then, as soon as your vision changes to normal, rest in the Sanctuary and jump to the battlefield below.
As for your equipment, there’s nothing that specific you can do to protect yourself from the onslaught of lasers that Captain Lotus Vision will fire at you. But you can make yourself as strong and agile as possible.
I would suggest strong weapons and armor like the Loongwreathe Ocher Armor and Staff Set for this fight, and I would also suggest the Wandering Wight Spirit and Agate Jar Curio for added defense.
Then, as for medicines and benefits, If you have something that can increase your stamina.that would be ideal for this fight, as being able to dodge frequently is essential if you want to stay alive during this encounter.
How to beat Captain Lotus-Vision
I’ll be frank with you; The Captain Lotus Vision fight is a cheap fight where doing everything right does not necessarily guarantee success as it is not the best designed fight within the game as there are a lot of unfair stuns, almost no clear telegraphs before attacks , and many attacks that can trigger you.
However, if you know the choreography of this fight, you give yourself the best chance.
The fight will start with the Captain using his triple magic projectile attack, so you’ll want to watch the blasts, dodge three times, and then have a moment to land some initial hits. This is also a good time to use the immobilization spell and go to town with them.
They will then teleport away from you and move to a random side of the room. You’ll want to close the gap as quickly as possible because at range they will be very difficult to predict and avoid laser attacks, not to mention their aforementioned triple projectiles.
This is how the battle will play out until you get them down to about 60% health. At this point, they will teleport to the center of the room and float in the air, channeling immense magical power to launch very powerful laser attacks.
These will be launched as individual lasers four times and then combine to produce an explosion in four directions. You can survive the individual lasers, but if the combined laser beam hits you, you’re done for.
You might think that hiding behind a pillar will help you. I’m just going to save you the frustration: the beams go through the pillars, so they won’t offer protection.
After this section, the Captain will spawn four magic crystals in each corner of the arena, launching lasers that act as tripwires across the battlefield. This section should be treated like a jump rope game, and if the player stands in the center of the arena, three well-timed jumps should be enough to get through this section unscathed.
After this section is completed, things will go back to how they were at the start of the fight for a while, and you’ll want to go on the offensive once again. Then, when you reduce them to the last 20% HP, they will perform their last stand.
This is an attack where they will launch lasers all over the room and also launch small homing projectiles while doing so. The best way to avoid this is to head to the wall closest to the way you came in and walk along that wall until the phase ends.
After this, you can go on the offensive once again and finish them off once and for all. Just make sure you time your dodges well and counterattack when the window presents itself and you’ll win the fight.
Keep in mind that you only have 1.5 minutes to defeat this boss before the health drain curse kicks in. I found out that this happened around the time they finished their final laser attack, so as soon as this is over you need to be super aggressive to end the fight as soon as possible.
