Online applications are currently being accepted for 5,600 posts in the police department from candidates who have qualified the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group C, according to Advt. No. 14/2024. Interested candidates can apply through the URL from September 10, 2024 to September 24, 2024, until 11:59 p.m. The application link will be disabled after this deadline.

  • 4,000 Police Constable (General Duty) Positions
  • 600 female agent positions (general duty)
  • 1000 Male Police Posts (Indian Reserve Battalions)

Education Qualification

Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education from a recognized board or institution. Also, they should have passed matriculation with Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects. It is important to note that no additional weighting will be given to higher education qualifications beyond the required 10+2 level.

Salary scale

For the posts listed under Category No. 1 to 3, the pay scale is Rs 21,700/- in Tier 3, Cell 1. This pay structure is applicable for the post of Constable in Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) , which has a total of 5,600 vacancies. .

age limit

  • 18-25 years (the first day of the month in which applications are invited for the recruitment of Constable, i.e. 09-01-2024)
  • For former military personnel: the interruption in service between the date of discharge and between the first day of the month (i.e. 01.09.2024) in which the registration process begins will not exceed four years according to rule 12.24 (1) (c). of the Punjab Police Rules, 1934.
  • For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Backward Class and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories, relaxation of upper age limit of 5 years will be granted as per government instructions issued from time to time.

Selection method

Qualification Tests:

Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will invite sufficient number of candidates for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Screening Test (PST) based on their merits in Common Eligibility Test (CET) . Both tests are only of a qualifying nature. The HSSC may conduct these tests in multiple batches as required to shortlist candidates up to four times the number of posts advertised for each category for the Knowledge Test.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

To ensure fairness and prevent tampering, the Physical Measurement Test will use standard digital measurement devices whenever possible. Candidates will be able to see their measurements on a digital monitor. The PMT results will be published on the official website of HSSC. Candidates who do not meet the prescribed standards will be disqualified from the further selection process. Only those who qualify for the PMT will advance to the next selection stages.

Physical Screening Test (PST):

Candidates are responsible for ensuring their medical fitness to participate in the physical assessment test. The results will be published on the official website of HSSC and candidates who do not meet the standards will be disqualified from further selection. Only those who meet the PST standards will advance to the next stage.

Knowledge test (94.5% weighting):

All candidates must take a Knowledge Test, which represents 94.5% of the total weight. This test will consist of objective and multiple choice questions, with each question obtaining the same score. The test will be bilingual (Hindi/English), except where knowledge of Hindi/English is required. To be considered for a general category position, candidates must obtain a minimum score of 50%. Candidates from the reserved category (both vertical and horizontal) are given a concession of 10%, setting the minimum limit at 40%.

Additional weight (Maximum 03 points):

Candidates with NCC certificates will receive additional qualifications: 1 mark for a Level A certificate, 2 marks for a Level B certificate and 3 marks for a Level C certificate.

  • Scanned copy of SC/BCA/BCB/EWS/ESM certificate including certificate for family members of ESM and children/grandchildren of Freedom Fighters.
  • Scanned copy of the certificate supporting the reservation, weight or relaxation claims.
  • Scanned photograph.
  • Scanned signatures of the candidate.
  • Scanned copy of all documents that prove higher qualifications, experience, etc., according to criteria if applicable.
  • Certificate of bona fide resident of Haryana, if applicable.
  • EWS certificate
  • Certificate/discharge book, if discharged from the Armed Forces (for ESM).
  • Certificate of eligibility for ESM family members.
  • Certificate of Eligibility and Certificate of Disability for Dependents of Disabled ESM.
  • Certificate for children/grandchildren of Freedom Fighters.
