OSSSC Recruitment 2024
Applications are currently being accepted online through the OSSSC website www.osssc.gov.in for recruitment of 2,629 district cadre teaching posts in government schools under ST and SC and M and BCW Development departments. Vacancies are distributed by district, and specific positions and reservation details are provided in the recruitment notice.
Educational qualification
1. Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) – Arts:
- Degree: Bachelor of Arts/Commerce or Shastri (Sanskrit)
- Qualifications Requirement: 45% for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsman/Ex-servicemen, 50% for others
- Education: B.Ed or 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed or 4-year integrated BABEd. from NCTE recognized institution
- Test: Must have passed OSSTET
2. Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) – Science (PCM):
- Degree: Bachelor of Science/B.Tech/BE with two school subjects
- Qualifications Requirement: 45% for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsman/Ex-servicemen, 50% for others
- Education: B.Ed or 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed or 4-year integrated B.Sc. Bed. from NCTE recognized institution
- Test: Must have passed OSSTET
3. Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) – Sciences (CBZ):
- Bachelor’s Degree: Same as TGT-Sciences (PCM) but with Chemistry, Botany, Zoology or Biotechnology
4. Hindi Teacher:
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with Hindi as a subject
- Qualifications Requirement: 45% for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsman/Ex-servicemen, 50% for others
- Additional Qualifications: Hindi Shikshan Parangat, BHEd. or B.Ed. in Hindi
- Test: Must have passed OSSTET
5. Sanskrit Teacher:
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit as a subject
- Qualifications Requirement: 45% for SEBC/SC/ST/PwD/Sportsman/Ex-servicemen, 50% for others
- Additional qualifications: Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit) or equivalent
- Test: Must have passed OSSTET
6. Physical Education Teacher (PET):
- Education: +2 or equivalent with CPEd./BPEd./MPEd.
- Test: Must have passed OSSTET
7. Teacher of Sevak/Sevika and Tribal Languages:
- Education: +2 Arts/Science/Commerce or equivalent with CT/DIET training
- Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in the applicable tribal language.
- Test: Must have passed OTET
Salary details
1. Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT):
- Posts: Arts, Science (PCM), Science (CBZ), Hindi Teacher, Sanskrit Teacher
- Pay Scale: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400
- Payment matrix level: 09, cell-01
2. Physical Education Teachers (PET), Sevak/Sevika and Tribal Language Teachers:
- Tribal languages: Soura, Kuvi, Kui, Oram, Munda/Mundari, Sadri, Bhuyan, Ho, Santali, Juang, Desia, Gadaba, Kisan, Koya, Bonda.
- Payment scale: 23,600 INR – 74,800 INR
- Pay Matrix Level: 06, Cell-01
age limit
- Minimum age: 21 years as of January 1, 2024.
- Maximum age: 38 years as of January 1, 2024.
- Age Verification: The date of birth must be as recorded in the HSC certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, or an equivalent certificate from a recognized Indian Board/Council/University.
Selection procedure
- Written Test: – Written Test will be conducted in all Districts. The date of the Written Test will be notified later.
- Tribal Language Skill Test: – Applicants who qualify for the written test for tribal language teachers will appear for the tribal language skill test to evaluate the oral efficiency of the tribal language in the pedagogical transaction to be carried out. within two months after the written test and be of a qualifying nature only.
- The date, time and venue of the Written Test will be informed to the eligible candidates through admission letters which will be issued online in due course from a specific date which will be notified on the said website later.
- Candidates are advised to visit the Commission website at regular intervals and also keep track of the different notices that will be released by the Commission to know the detailed schedule of the exam.
Last date to apply
The deadline to receive online applications in response to this announcement is October 10, 2024. After this date, the application system will be disabled and no further applications will be accepted. Incomplete or paper applications received after the deadline will be rejected. Candidates are advised to submit their applications well before the last date to avoid last minute issues.

- Be sure to read and follow the instructions carefully. Simply registering or re-registering does not complete your application; You must also submit the online application form.
Incomplete applications will be rejected, so it is essential to ensure that all sections are completed correctly and submitted by the deadline.
