Sports Authority of India (SAI) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, located at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003. The SAI is seeking applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Manager (Athlete Relations) on contractual basis. Initially the contract will be for a period of 2 years, with the possibility of annual extension, up to a maximum of 5 years (2+1+1+1).

Position with vacancies
- The number of vacancies mentioned is approximate and the SAI reserves the discretion to appoint Managers (Athlete Relations) based on actual operational requirements.
- The nominated candidates will be posted in TOPS Division, New Delhi, and various centers where SAI initiatives are active.
- SAI plans to use the expanded panel of waitlisted candidates to fill any anticipated vacancies in the future for one year.
- However, it should be noted that SAI reserves the right to cancel this panel at its discretion without providing any specific justification.
Essential qualifications and experience
- Candidates must possess a Master’s degree (2 years) or a Master’s degree (1 year) from any foreign university in a relevant subject such as Sports Management, or technical qualifications such as B. Tech or MBA in a relevant field.
- Alternatively, candidates with equivalent qualifications in a relevant field should have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in roles such as relationship manager, sports management, operations, events etc.
- Alternatively, candidates with a bachelor’s degree must have at least 3 years of experience in the above fields, acquired after completing their essential qualification.
Desirable qualification
- Candidates with a Post Graduate Diploma (2 years) specializing in Sports Management from a recognized university are preferred.
Desirable experience
- Ideal candidates should have experience in government, semi-government, autonomous bodies, PSU or private sector organisations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. It is advantageous to understand the results and competition formats in Olympic sports.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have participated at the national and international level in Olympic Sports Disciplines.
Age limit
- Candidates applying for the position must not exceed 32 years of age as of the application submission deadline.
- It is important to note that only the Date of Birth recorded on the Matriculation Certificate/Secondary Examination or an equivalent certificate will be accepted.
- Requests to change this date later will not be considered or granted.
- This ensures that applicants meet the specified age criteria as per the guidelines laid down by the Sports Authority of India and that the documented date of birth is the final record for determining age-based eligibility.
Salary details
- The remuneration for the position of Manager (Athlete Relations) will initially be fixed at Rs. 50,000 per month, with annual increases of up to a maximum of 7% possible, depending on performance evaluations conducted by the reporting officer and review committee.
- The salary range for this position ranges from Rs. 50,000 to rupees. 70,000 per month, allowing for potential growth in monthly income after annual increases.
- Regarding taxes, Income Tax or any other applicable taxes will be deducted at source according to current regulations. The SAI will issue TDS or Service Tax Certificates accordingly.
- However, the position does not include additional assignments such as TA/DA for joining or completing tasks, nor does it provide facilities such as DA, accommodation, home telephone, transportation, personal staff, medical reimbursement, HRA or LTC.
- The extension of the contract beyond the initial period will depend on the continuous evaluation of the performance of the selected candidates. Annual increases of up to 7% will be determined based on these periodic performance reviews.
