All types of players look for different things in their star wars video game experiences. Star Wars Outlaws is an open world game in which players take on the role of a young girl, Kay Vess, trying to make a name for herself in the underworld. There are virtually no Jedis to speak of and the game relies heavily on stealth.
Star Wars Outlaws takes a different approach to the game than most star wars adaptations, but it also falls prey to nostalgia, which means there are some cameos that make fans scream with joy. They are all handled quite tastefully, so let’s look at some of the best. There will be spoilers.

Temmin Wexley
An unexpected cameo from the new trilogy
Temmin Wexley may seem like a new character in Star Wars Outlaws. He will appear in Akiva and is one of the experts that players can recruit. Star Wars Outlaws to learn skills. Initially, Temmin is tasked with upgrading the Speeder so that players can traverse larger surfaces of water.

Jabba the Hutt
The OG Crime Lord
Jabba the Hutt is one of the cameos that was heavily shown in the game’s pre-release trailers. It makes sense given the period in star wars and the Hutt Cartel is one of the most well-known criminal organizations within the star wars canon. Joining Jabba the Hutt is, of course, his pet, Salacious B. Crumb, and his advisor, Bib Fortuna, along with familiar soldiers within his palace such as the Gamorrean Guards and the Rancor, who is one of the few bosses in the game. .
Jabba the Hutt resides on Tatooine, a planet he rarely leaves. Players will meet him through story missions and then there are also some side missions that include some jobs from Bib Fortuna specifically.

Han Solo
Too early to save a fellow outlaw
Inside Jabba the Hutt’s palace is the prize he wins at the end of Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back. Han Solo is there in all his glory, albeit frozen in carbonite. It’s more of an Easter egg than a cameo, as Han doesn’t interact with Kay and not much is given to her presence in general.
However, if this slab had not been seen in the game, fans would surely have been angry. It’s one of the most tragic things that’s ever happened to Han’s character and no one could ever imagine what it must be like for him to be trapped in a stasis like that.

Lando Calrissian
An expert in games of chance and life
Lando Calrissian also appears as an expert at the game, framed as the high roller of the group. To achieve this, players must play a game of Kessel Sabacc in Star Wars Outlaws which is relatively simple depending on the difficulty settings players use in the options.
While not played by Billy Dee Williams, his original actor from the films, Lindsay Owen Pierre brings her own gravitas to Lando that works. Behind the scenes, this mission eventually leads Kay back to working for the Rebel Alliance, taking down Stormtroopers while she waits for Lando to show up. It’s a physically short role, but Lando’s skill tree is a welcome addition to the Expert menu.

Boba Fett
An easily despicable cameo
Boba Fett is one of the easiest cameos to miss Star Wars Outlaws and happens during the Partners mission in which Kay breaks into Jabba the Hutt’s Palace for the first time. It’s a real stealth mission that even Solid Snake of Solid metal gear would have problems with. This is because players cannot use Nix as a gameplay option.
Challenge aside, players will eventually sneak through a vent to avoid detection. Through one of the vents, players can see Boba Fett clearly physically speaking to another person and then there is a hologram on the table. The entire scene plays out in silence and Kay doesn’t even comment on what a real hidden Easter egg is.

Lady Qi’Ra
Crimson Dawn’s Femme Fatale is serious
There are four factions in Star Wars Outlaws including Crimson Dawn, The Hutt Cartell, The Pyke Syndicate, and The Ashiga Clan. Jabba the Hutt is a returning character, Gorak Palas and Queen Ashiga are new to the game, and Lady Qi’Ra is also a returning character. Most might have forgotten that this is a character who first debuted in a novel prior to Solo: A Star Wars Story and then had a prominent role in said film. Lady Qi’Ra has deep ties to Han Solo, as they used to be lovers until she was sold into slavery.
Over time, he worked his way through the criminal underground, became part of Crimson Dawn, worked with Darth Maul, and then usurped power to become the big boss at the top, as seen in Star Wars Outlaws. Compared to the other crime lords, Lady Qi’Ra definitely has a presence that rivals even Jabba the Hutt. She is not a petty criminal because she plays and she plays well. If players choose to side with Crimson Dawn during the game, they will be handsomely rewarded and it almost seems like this is the proper canonical choice for Star Wars Outlaws.

Darth Vader
A quick but powerful demonstration of its power
Darth Vader was a surprise along with Boba Fett, although recent video games have tried to shoehorn him in where necessary. The end of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order comes to mind. Still, it was a pleasure to Star Wars Outlaws since Darth Vader is used well. He appears in the final quest ring where Kay witnesses a scene between him and Sliro Barsha. It is at this point that Kay realizes that Sliro has been disguised all this time as a big crime boss when he was actually part of the Empire all along.
Darth Vader is at his wits’ end with Sliro, who hasn’t found any rebels yet, causing him to shatter glass and point all the shards at Sliro in a threatening manner. Darth Vader has one more scene in the actual final mission, but only as a hologram. What makes all of this effective is Kay’s bewilderment, as she has no idea who Darth Vader is or even what a Jedi or The Force is. It’s a reminder of where the “normal” people of the galaxy are when it comes to this whole Jedi dilemma.
