There are so many ways to experience Baldur’s Gate 3 That could justify an entirely new game, including entirely new interactions and even secret endings. Even a year after the game’s release, there’s plenty to find and new ways to play that might spark the urge to start a new character.
With the release of patch 7, many players have started a new Baldur’s Gate 3 Play to see what the new evil endings look like, but there are a few other secrets that players may have missed along the way. Given how big the game is and how many choices there are to make, it’s no surprise that there are still weapons that some may not have found, or new characters that only appear with a few specific steps to complete them.
Warning: This article contains major spoilers for all Acts of Baldur’s Gate 3!

Create the vision of the absolute
Find the broken pieces of a secret spear
In Act 1, Tav can encounter two brothers who are trying to save their brother, Edowin, who has just been attacked by an Owlbear. It doesn’t really matter what choice is made here because he will die either way, and players only need to loot his body to find a broken spear handle.
Make sure you hold onto it and head towards the Owlbear Cave further along the same path. Once inside, either killing the Mother Owlbear or sneaking past her, be sure to remove her head from a broken spear. Once both are acquired, combine them to receive Vision of the Absolute Spear, which has the Absolute Night special ability that blinds targets that save a failed Dexterity roll and deals additional Piercing damage to creatures with multiple eyes.

Unlock the Titanstring bow
Deliver the lost shipment to the Zhentarim hideout
In Act 1, players can find a cave where two merchants are hiding from a group of Gnolls attacking them. This is part of the Lost Shipment quest, which can be completed in several ways, but for this variant, the shipment must be delivered (unopened) to the Zhentarim hideout. This is something that many players may have missed because many have chosen to keep the contents of the shipment, which includes the Iron Flask inside.
Once delivered, the Titanstring bow can be purchased from Bhrem in the Zhentarim hideout. The weapon allows players to deal additional damage equal to their own Strength modifier, making it a great choice for tank classes. More damage is added to this bow when taking potions like the Hill Giant’s Elixir of Strength, making it a potential one-shot weapon for earlier areas of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Explore the basement of the Arcane Tower
Take Bernard’s ring to find the Staff of Arcane Blessing.
The Arcane Tower is one of the most interesting areas that can be discovered while exploring the Underdark, but meeting Bernard does not mean the end of this adventure. By equipping the Ring of Guiding Light, players will receive a reward for solving their puzzle, and a hidden button will appear on the elevator that takes players between floors.
This button will take Tav to the basement of the Tower, where you can find the Staff of Arcane Blessing near some shelves. What’s special about this Staff is Mystra’s Blessing, which gives the wielder an extra 1d4 on Saving Throws and Attack Rolls, and an extra 2d4 on all Spell Attack Rolls.
7
Erase Minthara’s mind
Take charge of Minthara’s interrogation
If Minthara was saved in Act 1, players can meet her in Moonrise Towers before saving Nightsong in Act 2. Ketheric Thorm and Disciple Z’rell are interrogating her, and sparing her means she can be recruited after Emerald Grove, but worse fates await him.
However, without intervention, players can go down to the Moonrise Towers prison and find her being interrogated a second time by Sumera. There are two options here; Either let the interrogator Sumera break her and erase her memory, or use deception or intimidation to take over the interrogation. In this case, players can erase Minthara’s memory completely, convince her to pretend to be broken, or have her join the party.

Accept the offer from Araj Oblodra
A little blood can be a big help
Araj Oblodra in Moonrise Towers is hidden in the laboratory on the east side of the Tower. He has a strange request and desires Tav’s blood, which gives him a powerful special potion depending on the character’s race.
But that’s not all, because, with Astarion in the group, she will ask him to bite her neck in exchange for another potion. He won’t pass if forced to, but in exchange he can obtain a Potion of Eternal Vigor, which permanently increases the Strength score of whoever drinks it by 2.

How to find the murderer’s girlfriend ring
Fight yourself and your mirror allies for a clean ring
When inside Shar’s Gauntlet in Act 2, players can discover a room where they must fight mirror versions of themselves and their party in the Same Trial. Because the bodies in these mirror images disappear immediately, players may have missed a powerful ring that can be discovered upon their defeat.
After giving the offering to Shar, look for the Assassin’s Love Ring on a bench near the brazier. When wearing the ring, the next Attack roll made after killing a creature will be an immediate Critical Hit, making it an incredibly strong boon for the rest of the game. This skill can only be used once, but refreshes after a long rest.

Meet Honk in the third act
A new NPC to grunt and serve drinks on a date with Karlach
Honk is possibly one of the strangest characters due to the absurdly specific steps required to meet him. Players not only need to romance Karlach, but they also need to. First, players must kill Henk, the owner of the Singing Lute Tavern in the Lower Town. Only after this is it a good idea to go on a date with Karlach.
In the original scene, without any interference from the player, Henk serves Tav and Karlach on their date. But, if he is killed before then, he will be replaced by Honk, who is supposed to be his brother. A few months ago, Honk didn’t even have a wiki page to his name, indicating how rare this interaction is.

The gem without rings and the ring without gems
An easy to miss secret in Rivington
This ring is easy to miss because the Ringless Gem component can only be purchased from a merchant, Ferg Drogher, in Rivington if Shadowheart is not in the party. Considering he’s one of the most popular party members among players, it’s likely that most of them missed this as well.
Drogher sells the Ringless Gem and players can find the Gemless Ring on a corpse near the cliffs to the east of Rivington. Put them together and players can create a rare tarnished ring. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have any special abilities, but it may be an Easter egg that Baldur’s Gate 3 Players have yet to find out. Either way, it’s an interesting little discovery in Act 3 that some may not have known about.
2
Create the Hellfire Engine Crossbow
Discover the weapon in the steel watch foundry.
While completing the quest Disable the Steel Guard in Act 3, search the office at the back of the building to find the Watcher’s Crossbow blueprint. Players must then find a targeting module, a steel surveillance arm, and a table in order to create the Hellfire Engine crossbow from the blueprints. The arm is located at X: -280 Y: -164 and the module at X: -305 Y: -156, while the table is in the same room where the players found the blueprint.
To create the Hellfire Engine Crossbow, interact with the table and simply put the pieces together. The crossbow comes with really decent damage, but it also unlocks the Lightning Arrow spell for the wielder, which allows them to launch an arrow of electricity that explodes on impact and deals additional Lightning damage to any creatures around it.
1
Get the flashing boots very fast
Surrender to Akabi’s Wheel of Wonders
The Last Day Circus remains one of the most interesting areas of Act 3, and Akabi the Djinn has become famous for turning players into a wheel of cheese or sending them to a secret jungle full of dinosaurs. However, those who have some patience and continue playing their Wheel of Wonders will be able to get the Very Fast Flashing Boots.
Boots are considered a junk item, but they have a mechanic that allows players to use Misty Step as many times as they want without spending a spell slot. The caveat, however, is that players will teleport without clothing. However, weapons and accessories are not affected by this, so they could make for some very strange and creative encounters in fights.
