Fallout 76 Vault Tier List
Between cut and upcoming content, Fallout 76 features several Vault-Tec Vaults, some of which have a lasting impact on the franchise’s lore.
All the rare apparel items share one thing in common: they are not easy to find. Some of the rarest items have drop rates of just 0.01%. This guide aims to help players learn all there is to know about the rarest apparel items that can be found throughout post-war Appalachia.
Updated on October 1, 2024, by Benjamin Joe: Fallout 76 is constantly receiving updates that change not only how the game works, but the value of various items within. This can make it almost impossible for players to keep up with the latest trends in pricing and collecting. That said, there are still a handful of items that players should keep an eye out for. While most pieces of apparel aren’t worth more than a few caps, there are some items that are worth a small fortune to collectors and avid players alike. Since this piece was written, Bethesda has announced that they are planning to change the rarity of some of the apparel items in Fallout 76, so it’s time to update this piece with the latest information.
A Possible Big Change To Rare Apparel
Over the past couple of months, Bethesda has been teasing the idea of adding a lot of rare apparel items to party packs. Mutated party packs and standard party packs are awarded to players upon completing a mutated event. Mutated events take place at the top of every hour every other week. While the frequency can change, players can expect to get their hands on these party packs fairly regularly.
Recently, it was announced that some of the rare apparel items would be making their way into party packs. While this is yet to happen, the value of some of the ultra-rare apparel items has taken a fairly large dive. According to several sources, including Nuka Knights, a lot of the rare apparel items can be packed by opening a party pack. These changes are currently on the PTS (Public Test Server) so they are subject to change. There are also new reward crates on the PTS that have a small chance to award the player a piece of rare appeal.

Grey Fisherman’s Overalls
A Cheap Rare Item
- How To Get: Sometimes Sold By The Traveling Vendor Bot Responder
Despite being fairly tricky to get, the Grey Fisherman’s Overalls doesn’t carry much value. That said, it is still pretty rare. To get this outfit, the player will need to find the Traveling Vendor Bot Responder. This vendor is a random encounter that has a small chance of being triggered when players walk through certain areas.
However, should the player find the Traveling Vendor Bot Responder, there’s no guarantee that the robot will have the outfit in its inventory. Despite its rarity, the outfit doesn’t usually sell for more than a couple of thousand Caps. This is a rare outfit that many players may already have hidden away in their stash box and not know it.

While the chances of getting this outfit are the same as getting the Grey Fisherman’s Outfit, this one tends to go for a little more. If the player finds all 4 lost caches, then they will have a 5% chance of getting one of the events’ rare rewards. The Blue Ridge Outfit and Mask are among those rewards.
